One accessory trend that I’ve noticed is everywhere this year is tassels! Whether they’re beaded, metallic or suede, tassel earrings are a great statement with any outfit.
I wanted to share how I made these super easy suede tassel earrings. No crafting experience necessary!
- Soft suede cording lace
- 2 fishhook earwire hooks
- 2 leather cord end caps
- needle nose pliers
First, cut the suede cord to the approximate length you want for the earrings. For these earrings I used 4 inch cord pieces.
Next, cut a strip of tape and lay it sticky side up. Tape down both ends to prevent it from moving.
Attach the suede pieces side by side on the tape. Don’t worry too much about them lining up perfectly at the top or the bottom since you’ll cut both sides.
Once your pieces are all laid out (I used 10 cords), cut the tape strip with the attached pieces leaving 1 – 2 cm on each side. Role the cording lace together using the tape to secure the edge.
Cut the taped end to create a flat bottom to attached the cord end cap.
Cut the bottom end into a straight line.
Glue the end to secure the bead cap. I used my glue gun here, but I recommend a bead glue that will last more permanently like E6000 Jewelry & Bead Glue.
secure the bead cap.
Finally, attach the fish hook earwire using needle nose pliers.
And voila! Enjoy your suede tassel earrings! Make them in different lengths and colors, you can find the suede cording lace in various colors at Micheals.
